| About
Us
The Valley Food Bank was opened in late 2001 to serve the food insecure in the San Fernando Valley. Our warehouse facility is a central hub that collects, processes and distributes surplus food at no-charge to Rescue Center food pantries and soup kitchens to provide hot nutritious meals and food baskets to the homeless and needy throughout the Valley. Thousands of underserved homeless and poor in the San Fernando Valley are suffering from the lack of proper nutrition, and need immediate attention.
An ever-increasing number of circumstances
and conditions are compounding problems associated with
hunger and poverty in this region. The elimination and
reduction of Government programs, the rising cost of
housing, transportation and energy, and immigration
have exacerbated a cycle of homelessness and poverty,
hunger and associated despair throughout the regions
of the San Fernando Valley.
