It will allow for more distribution of perishable food

One of the biggest blessings to our ministry is receiving news that RMA Valley Food Bank will be the recipient of a grant award. LA Regional Food Bank, a longtime partner of Rescue Mission Alliance, recently chose us to receive a brand-new refrigerated van!

The van fills a major need, solving a consistent problem - keeping perishable food fresh. Previously, if trucks were already out in the community, distributing food to those in need, there would be none available to accommodate refrigerated items as they became available throughout the day.

The new refrigerated van will allow for easy pick up and storage of large amounts of donated perishables, which would have otherwise been passed-up or tossed out due to limited storage space and availability.

The new van will not only help reduce food waste, but it is also fuel efficient, helping to keep costs at a minimum. Plus, it allows for healthy, fresh food options - especially fruits and vegetables - to get to local communities.

We are so thankful to our friends at LA Regional Food Bank for partnering with us to Fight Hunger and Feed Hope.
